Workforce Development & Strategic Collaboration with University of Nebraska and NebraskaCYBER MATRIX
Trexcel Corporation is proud to announce a strategic collaboration with the University of Nebraska at Omaha (UNO) and NebraskaCYBER MATRIX to advance cybersecurity workforce development and compliance education in Nebraska.
Building Nebraska’s Cybersecurity Workforce
This partnership addresses a critical need: developing cybersecurity professionals who understand both technical security and compliance frameworks like CMMC. As the Defense Industrial Base expands, companies need skilled workers who can navigate the intersection of cybersecurity practice and regulatory requirements.
A Five-Semester Applied Program
Working with UNO’s cybersecurity programs, we’re developing a five-semester applied curriculum that integrates hands-on experience with compliance-aligned education. Students will gain practical skills in:
- Real-world cybersecurity implementation using production-grade tools and environments
- CMMC compliance frameworks and documentation practices
- Defense Industrial Base security requirements and best practices
- Secure development and operations in regulated environments
This isn’t theoretical training—students will work with actual compliance infrastructure and learn the skills they need to enter the workforce on day one.
Core Collaboration Areas
Our partnership with UNO and NebraskaCYBER MATRIX focuses on four key areas:
1. Training Infrastructure
Providing students access to enterprise-grade security tools and compliance platforms, including XEnclave™ environments that mirror real defense contractor operations.
2. Workforce Development
Creating clear pathways from education to employment, ensuring graduates have the specific skills Nebraska’s growing technology sector needs.
3. Testing & Evaluation
Developing realistic scenarios and assessments that prepare students for the challenges they’ll face as cybersecurity professionals in the Defense Industrial Base.
4. Compliance-Aligned Education
Integrating CMMC and other regulatory frameworks into the curriculum so students understand not just what to secure, but how to demonstrate and document compliance.
Strengthening Nebraska’s Capabilities
This collaboration directly supports Nebraska’s emergence as a technology hub with deep capabilities in defense, healthcare, and critical infrastructure. By developing local talent with specialized skills in compliance and cybersecurity, we’re building the workforce that will drive Nebraska’s technology sector forward.
Looking Ahead
We’re excited about the opportunities this partnership creates—for students entering the cybersecurity field, for companies seeking qualified professionals, and for Nebraska’s technology ecosystem as a whole.
The first cohort begins in Spring 2026, and we’re working closely with UNO to ensure the program delivers exactly what the industry needs.
